However, there are modern touches such as a DVD player with surround sound speaker system with satellite television including plenty of DVDs to watch, should you want to. Additionally, an exchange library operates should you run out of books or alternatively you may simply wish to chill out away from the mid-day sun.
The Dining Room
This is the ‘hub’ of the house with doors leading off to the lounge, staircase and bathroom and is decorated in keeping with the house’s rustic nature.
Should you wish to make a change from alfresco dining, then there is an intimate dining area in which to enjoy your meal, which seats up to six people.
There is also a useful notice board giving local information such as horse riding, quad bikes and other things to do locally, as well as an excellent selection of restaurants in the surrounding area.
The Andalucian them is continued upstairs where the bedrooms are furnished in the traditional style, with eucalyptus beams and cane ceilings. Beware of the shutters which do an excellent job of keeping out light to the extent that you may have unintended lie-ins…
If you are staying at the beginning or end of the season, there are electric wall heaters to keep away any chills.
The Master Bedroom
Again, cane ceilings with eucalyptus wooden beams adorn this bedroom with ample space to hang and store clothing in convenient chest of drawers and wardrobe.
You will also notice the pipework from the wood burner running through the room, which is typical of the thrifty nature of the Andaluzs, to maximise the warming effect in the bedroom during colder months.
A suitably sized double bed with matching bedside cabinets allows you to yourself feel completely at home with thick floor rugs and Andalucian wall tapestries completing the Spanish feel.
Again, there is an electric wall heater should you need it and during summer months electric fans are supplied for your comfort but above all else you will find yourself relaxing in this bedroom as you listen to the wind gently blowing through the eucalyptus trees situated just outside.
If you are staying for two weeks, clean bedding and towels will be left for you mid-way through your holiday but please note that beach towels for outside use are not provided. However, there is a washing machine in the outside goat shed should you require it.
The Outside Dining Area
This is probably where you’ll enjoy the majority of your meals, situated just off the kitchen adjacent to the barbecue area where you can dine outside enjoying the Mediterranean climate in total privacy.
There is a rustic pergola to shade you from the mid-day sun, together with teak table and chairs from which to admire the pool area and plan your next swim, possibly listening to the water cascading over the infinity edge beyond.
Within the flower beds, rosemary, thyme and mint are available so please feel free to use them as part of your meal and all we’d ask in return is that you recycle your dish water to allow them to thrive in the hot Spanish sun so that the next guests can also benefit from them.
On that note, grey water is recycled onto parts of the garden and there is an additional irrigation system but if any of the plants (particularly those in pots) look a little jaded, then please feel free to give them a drink.
